Student Activities Council is a student led organization that plans and executes major campus programming. With four event committees and a marketing team, there are opportunities for all interests to be a part of coordinating events on campus. Student Activities Council is funded through a designated fee per credit hour - we strive to use that fee to provide the most comprehensive and engaging programming possible while keeping students interests in mind. To find out more about our committees and the student leaders who facilitate them, check out the Positions & Descriptions tab or the Contact Us tab.
The purpose of Student Activities Council is to plan and administer activities for the student body, in order to contribute to a more well-rounded social, recreational, and cultural life for the Northwest campus and community. We provide entertaining alternatives to students with our late night activities and events. We plan several activities throughout the year in order to provide a variety of events, including: concerts, lectures, movies, and comedians.
Student Activities Council is for the students, by the students.
General Meetings are held on Thursday evenings from 5-6pm in the J.W. Jones Student Union Boardroom (3rd floor). We invite all students to participate in SAC meetings - we use these meetings to plan future events, coordinate upcoming events, discuss recruitment of new members, and engage in fun activities.
Our Executive Board is comprised of eight undergraduate students, all with a range of experience and backgrounds. We begin the application process in November, with interviews to follow. All students are welcome to apply for executive board positions as there are experience requirements for any position outside of President, whom must have served on the executive board prior to being President.
